She considers the Bhagavad Gita to be an important spiritual guidance, and she used her copy to take the oath of office in 2013. She later presented Prime Minister Narendra Modi her copy of the Bhagavad Gita during Modi’s visit to the United States in 2014.
Weddings
In 2002, she married Eduardo Tamayo. In 2006, they decided to end their marriage and cited “the strains war throws on military spouses and families” as the reason for their decision to do so.
In 2015, Gabbard tied the knot with Abraham Williams, a freelance cameraman and editor who also happened to be the son of her office manager in Honolulu. The event was a traditional Vedic wedding.
