Min Yoon-gi is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is a prominent member of the South Korean pop group ‘BTS.’ He has recorded several solo songs too. Yoon-gi started as an underground rapper, before joining the K-pop group, ‘BTS.’ He was very young when he started composing songs. He has more than 60 songs to his credit. Since his debut with ‘BTS,’ Yoon-gi has remained an integral part of the group. He is a multi-talented person who can write, compose, and mix music. He is fondly called ‘Suga’ by his fans. Childhood & Early Life

Min Yoon-gi was born on March 9, 1993, in Daegu, South Korea, into a poor family. He has an elder brother. Yoon-gi initially attended the ‘Taejeon Elementary School.’ He then joined the ‘Gwaneum Middle School’ and the ‘Apgujeong High School.’ He holds a major in Broadcasting Performing Art from the ‘Global Cyber University.’

When Yoon-gi was 12, he listened to hip-hop songs such as Stony Skunk’s ‘Ragga Muffin’ and Epik High’s ‘Fly.’ He was greatly inspired by the hip-hop genre of music, as he felt that it was different from mainstream music. He started composing music at the tender age of 13. At the age of 17, Yoon-gi started doing a part-time job with a recording studio. While working there, he learned more about composing and arranging music and started performing rap music. Initially, his parents were not very supportive of his career choice. However, they later accepted his choice and were proud of him.
